babies and kittens...and bread.

Yoga pants are the most comfortable things ever. I wish I could wear them every day. I guess I could, but I'd probably start to look frumpy.

I had this dream last night that I was pregnant. I went and had an ultrasound, and there were 4 babies. The pregnancy must have progressed quickly because then all of a sudden I had them. I had two girls and two boys. I was trying to breastfeed and I was freaking out because I didn't have enough milk to go around. But it was okay, because they would turn into kittens during the day while I was at work and didn't have to eat every 2 hours.

Creepy.

Speaking of kittens....my kitty likes to lay on my tummy more and more lately. Enjoy that while it lasts, Monster.

I went out to dinner tonight with coworker and coworker's sister-in-law to talk about planning co-worker's baby shower. Our waitress, for some reason, seemed very attached to me. Like, after I asked her to bring me some bread and ginger ale while I waited for the other two to arrive, we developed this secret bond and the way she talked to me, it seemed like she just wanted to give me a great big hug but was holding back. I'm really confused. This happened to me the last time I was at this place. I happened to be sitting in the same exact booth, but I had a different waitress. It must have something to do with their training....either that, or they are former Starbucks employees and are still in Starbucks mode. When I worked there, we had to always have conversations with people and act like we knew (or at least cared to hear) their life story. Truth is, we never really cared. We just didn't want you to get upset when your half-caf grande soy extra foam caramel macchiato took too long. Maybe if your order wasn't so ridiculous, you could have been on your way 2 minutes ago. I think maybe this waitress was so enamored with the fact that I'm pregnant that she didn't know how to control her emotions. I may have been the very first pregnant girl she has ever met. I should have explained to her that it really isn't a big deal. The only reason I even told her was because she looked at me weird when I asked for bread and ginger ale. I didn't want her to think I was a freak. She asked me if I had thought of names and if I knew whether it was a boy or girl. No, and no. It's way too early for that. I really wish I'd never said anything. I should have just let her think I was a freak who wanted carbs and soda. Coworker and coworker's sister-in-law found it awkward, I think. Oh well. I should have passed the torch onto coworker by saying, "Ask her, she's way more pregnant than I am." I'm not showing. That's not baby. That's just bloat. Right now my baby is the size of a blueberry. Hardly anything to write home about.

By the way, I realize this is the first time I've come right out and said it. I think that people have suspected it all along but haven't really wanted to say anything to me. I don't know how else anyone would explain the fact that I'm complaining of nausea all the time. It was either that or some weird parasite. Like on that show, Monsters Inside Of Me. Or better yet, I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant. I should have done that. I should have let this go on for months and months until I gave birth and then finally said, "Well, that explains it, I guess." I'm honestly hesitant to come right out and tell people because of what happened last time. Not that it would make a difference, but it was really hard last time when I lost the baby and had to undo the whole thing. We were going to wait until after the first appointment this time. That's next week Friday. I'm not going to be concerned. I think that most people who read this either don't know me at all, or they're my friends who already know. Some people already know anyway.

Today was cookie day at work. We got paid to sit around for 30 minutes and eat cookies and drink cider. It was wonderful.

I'm really tired. If I hadn't gone to dinner tonight, I would have gone to bed at 6pm. I've been doing that more and more lately. It's now 8pm and I feel like it's way past my bedtime. I'm so lame.

My blogs have been boring lately. It's because I feel boring. All I want to do is sleep. So, maybe it's my subconscious attempt to put you to sleep as well. Things will pick up soon. Promise.

A few things before I go:

Tomorrow is spelled like that. Tomorrow. There is no 'A' in it.

Stop posting pictures of you drinking. I am not able to have any alcohol for...well, a heck of a long time now. So stop taunting me with your cute glasses of fizzy stuff with lime on the side. Just shut up with your smiling pictures of you and your drink that I can't share.

I'm tired all the time. If you call me, I probably won't answer because I am sleeping. Or I am seriously too tired to talk, to anyone. Unless you have a solution for my upset stomach. Asking me to do anything for you is a lot to ask. Anything. No matter what it is. Just save your requests for sometime in February.

But if you want to bring me something with Nutella on it, I'll eat it and have a conversation with you. But then you have to leave afterward.

My brother is coming home soon. I'm excited.

I don't like the smell of onions.

Toy Story 3 made me cry. A lot of things make me cry lately.

I almost vomited at the grocery store, in aisle 5. But I didn't. Because there was a child sitting in one of those shopping carts that looked like a car. I didn't want to traumatize him.

coconuts and boobs

This blog doesn't have a lot to do with the title. I just thought the title was funny. Sorry to disappoint you.

It sounds like my neighbors have elephants running up and down the stairs. I know they have a doggy, and I think that's probably what it is. Even so, it's a medium sized doggy. They are loud. At least I can attribute weird noises coming from the walls to them. So then I don't get all freaked out when I'm home alone.

Wednesday is cookie day at my office. They do this every year. People make cookies and bring them in, then we stand around and drink cider and eat cookies for an hour. It looks like, however, they are cutting it down to a half-hour due to the workload. That sucks. I want to stand around for an hour and get paid to eat cookies. That's okay though. We'll have our holiday party coming up...and there are plenty more things to look forward to. Like, vacation. I noticed today that I have 12 hours to burn before the end of the year otherwise I lose them, so I am taking Friday off and next Monday afternoon (I'll leave at 11am). Sweet. I have no more Fridays this month that I am working except for next week and I'm only working until 11am. I love my job.

Jessie had Texas Caviar at work today and it made me want some. Thanks, Jessie! So I just made some. Now it looks and smells gross and I don't want any. Maybe I will want it tomorrow. If not, Husband will definitely eat it.

I had french fries for breakfast. Then later on in the morning I had half of a peanut butter and banana sandwich. Then for lunch I had a teeny amount of plain pasta that I remembered I had at work from last week. It was still good, I think. Well, I ate it. I had no utensils so I ate it with two butter knives that I used like chopsticks. Thanks, Jessie! I also had a tangerine and then I ate some wheat thins that I extorted from Jessie. Thanks, Jessie! I came home and had the other half of the peanut butter and banana sandwich. I also ate some cheese. I still feel pretty sick. But at least I don't have to eat anymore today. Do you know how hard it is to eat when nothing tastes good? Except the french fries, mostly. Those were good. They were good last night at Red Robin too. Along with the chocolate malt I had. That was good.

I signed up at work to do a cookie exchange with 4 other girls. I'm really tired and not ambitious like I usually am this time of year. Normally I'd make something really fun and yummy. Last year I made pecan pie bites. That sounds like too much work for me now though. If I was feeling ambitious, I'd probably make a variety of biscotti... like lemon biscotti, chocolate hazelnut, and black & white. At this moment, I'm tempted to buy a bunch of cookies from Sam's Club and put them in different containers to make it look like I baked them. The problem is, we're supposed to include a recipe. Ugh. I wish I had energy. I'd make the biscotti. Or I'd make macaroons. Maybe I'll have the energy when the time comes.

Or, I could make homemade almond joy candy.

FYI, I didn't take those pictures (courtesy of Joythebaker.com). They are representative of what my homemade almond joy would look like though.

It's pretty easy. But as I get older, I'm learning that less and less people like coconut. Not that I care, but I get really self-conscious if people don't eat the food that I make. Why all the coconut haters anyway? What did coconut ever do to you? It's a lovely tropical fruit, it's white and flaky and tastes like paradise and sunscreen, in a really yummy way. People who don't like coconut couldn't possibly appreciate it anyway, and I feel sorry for those people. Are you one of those people?

My boobs hurt. My boobs are starting to look like coconuts. They're getting bigger, against my will. I didn't ask for this to happen.

We're definitely going to have a white Christmas. There's a lot of snow outside and it's supposed to snow two more times before Sunday. I wish snow tasted like coconut.

I have a swollen gland. It's on the right side under my jaw line sort of toward my ear. It hurts when I swallow. I'm kind of freaking out and I don't know why it's there. If it gets worse I'm going to have to call the doctor.

On another note... hello nausea, we meet again. Good thing I cleaned the toilets yesterday. We may be spending some time together soon.

hot chocolate and snow. and squash.

It's snowing! And I'm drinking caramel hot chocolate! And I'm baking butternut squash and the house smells really good and it's toasty warm. I'm really happy.

I knew it started snowing last night because I could hear the plows. It really hasn't snowed much, but for it not being winter (technically) yet, it's kind of a lot for a first snowfall. I'm too lazy to go outside so here are some taken from the inside of my house.

There will be a lot more snow in the coming weeks. I'm so glad I have 4-wheel drive, even though Husband tends to drive me everywhere when the roads are slippery. He's a better driver than I am.

My stomach hurts. This is getting really old. It's probably getting old hearing about it too. Sorry.

So I watched Toy Story 3. I loved it. I cried at the end. It was so sad. I don't think it was supposed to be sad. It was sad to me though. Now I want to watch the first two. It has been a while. And I'm upset - we don't have them. :(

So maybe I'll watch Finding Nemo or Monsters, Inc. Those are good movies too. What is it with kids movies all of a sudden? I love them.

I'm baking this butternut squash and I don't know what I am going to eat it with. It sounded good but now I'm not so sure. I know it's good for me and I should eat it.

Here are some ideas, but I don't know what to do:

Pureed and mixed with pasta, some cream, sage, and parmesan?

Butternut squash and black bean enchiladas?

Pureed with cream, maple syrup, cinnamon, and pecans?

Butternut squash ravioli? But I have no wonton wrappers...

Risotto? But I have no chicken stock...

I'll probably just eat it with butter and brown sugar. Like baby food. That's fine. It'll go great with my mashed potatoes that I'm going to make. You'd think I have no teeth or something since I don't want solid food.

I had this dream last night that I was pregnant and miscarried. Husband also died, and then I was so upset that I quit my job and was denied Unemployment benefits. It was a horrible dream. Then I woke up and was all warm and uncomfortable. It was pretty awful. I was also nearly upside down on my bed.

I heard someone talking about a banana split. Hey, that also sounds really good...

once more....with feeling.

What's worse than dealing with nausea all day? Being nauseous at night and not being able to sleep because of it. It's really okay, it gives me an excuse to talk.

So I'm adding Nutella to one of the only things I can stand to look at or eat at the moment. That may change. I'd really like to get my appetite back. I can't just keep eating spoonfuls of Nutella...and later, a piece of cheese.... and later, a popsicle.....and then more Nutella, and more cheese, and oh, a piece of bread with Nutella. Really? Oh wait, I just had a glass of milk.

I forgot to mention when Amy came to visit, she brought with her a great bag of gifts for me. What a great friend! My friends are great. When great things happen, they celebrate with me and I'm just so lucky to have people like that in my life. Hot cocoa, yummy smelling soap, yummy chocolate, decaf Via, cute socks, Colgate Wisps in case I puke in public (as some know that is an irrational fear of mine)...I think that was everything. Pretty sure. In any case, it warmed my heart and that hot cocoa is totally going to warm my tummy tomorrow. And the socks are going to warm my feet.

I think we should have put plastic on the windows in our bedroom. I'm really cold right now. But I don't know how to do it. Husband did it - I just used the blow-dryer to shrink it. I guess I'll just have to wait until he gets back to do it.

I just caught my cat licking her butt while laying on my bed. That's disgusting.

I've been trying to think of Christmas gifts for people. Here are some of the things I've come up with so far. Oh, and you need to click on the photos so you can see the description of the product itself:

or...

or perhaps something like this...

I'm tempted to order the Jewish calendar for myself. There are a million things on that website that I want. I'm tempted to make an entire blog entry of gift ideas. You only wish you were on my gift-giving list.

Someone is shoveling my sidewalk right now. It's a bit late. They are loud. I thought they'd be doing that in the morning. He's wearing a hunter-orange hat.

randoms on a Friday night.

My husband has drill this weekend.

My nausea is out of control. The only things I can stomach are popsicles and cheese. And ice water. I may get constipated, but at least I'll be hydrated.

I'm going to watch Toy Story 3 sometime this weekend.

It's snowing. It's pretty.

I really like our [fake] Christmas tree.

Amy and baby came to visit tonight. He's a teeny cutie patooti. I fell in love and he was only here for an hour.

I watched an episode of Jem and the Holograms. I remember it being a lot cooler back in the 80s.

My hair is getting really long. I don't want to cut it yet.

I'm wearing thermal pajamas. I look like a really big child. They are rainbow striped with hearts on them. I'm glad I have friends who have known me too long to judge me.

We put plastic on the windows in the spare bedroom today. I hope that helps with the temperature. It's fricken freezing in there.

For the first time in my life, my favorite ice cream in the world is in my freezer and I have no desire to eat it.

I'm probably going to miss church because of nausea and fatigue. I'm sad.

How do you pronounce nausea? Naw-zee-uh? Or naw-szchaw? Jessie and I can't figure it out so we've been purposely pronouncing it NAW-SHAW in order to sound stupid on purpose so that people don't think we're idiots without realizing it. Does that even make sense?

12.2.10

I'm not creative and couldn't think of a title.

I like this picture of my dog.

My cat is fat. She weighs over 9 pounds. That's too much for her teeny frame. She has to go on the Southbeach Diet for cats. Low carbs and high protein.

I was nauseous all day. ALL day. Since 3am this morning. My husband pooped in the downstairs bathroom and since I have the nose of a bloodhound, I could smell it upstairs and it made my nausea worse. Today was by far the worst day for nausea for me. Worst. Day. Ever. And I'm going to find some wood to knock on because I don't want to have a worse day than today. I'm taking a half-day tomorrow and I'm so happy about that I could puke. Really, I could.

I want to forgo ALL commitments outside of work. I don't have the energy to do anything else and I feel like I'm letting other people down when I forget about plans or obligations. Fact of the matter is, this is a really difficult time for me and I don't want anyone to rely on me for anything. I can't even do laundry right now. Thank goodness for Husband. He's amazing. He drives me to work. He rubs my back. He does laundry and housework that I can't physically do right now. I'd die without him. It would suck.

He is currently doing laundry. He is also going to go to the store to pick up things for me that don't sound gross. Mint ice cream. Chocolate ice cream. Bananas. Nutella. Hot cocoa. Potatoes. Muenster cheese. Then he's going to come home and kiss me and tell me how pretty he thinks I look despite the fact that I've been keeping him up at night due to my predicament and I look like a bloated bride of Frankenstein. Also, I'm wearing Rainbow Brite pajamas. That's love.

I'm not trying to complain. I'm just being honest. I want to describe my day as if you were with me experiencing it first hand. I also don't like crackers anymore. They hold no value. It is an old wive's tale that they help with nausea. Lies. All lies.

wednesday

Today was definitely better than yesterday. Victory! But not when it comes to food.

I had macaroni and cheese for dinner. From a box. I like to live dangerously.

For dessert I had a spoonful of Nutella. And a glass of milk. I'm almost out of Nutella. This can't happen. I can't live without this stuff.

I like my new jeans.

I want those big thick french fries from Red Robin. I want to eat them with malt vinegar.

Operation Bikini is on hold for a few months. It's not my choice. It's mandatory.

Tomorrow is Thursday...and pay day!! Hooray! While over half of my check will go to rent...that's okay. Christmas is going to be pretty minimal this year. Hope everyone likes homemade gifts because that's all people are getting. Except for our parents of course. But that shopping is done already. Husband and I have huge expenses in the foreseeable future and we can't afford to spend money on things we....can't afford.

I hope I can get my french fries though.

A friend of mine on Facebook posted a link to this site. I can't stop laughing.

Kim Jong-il Looking at Things

It's pictures of Kim Jong-il looking at things. Here's a picture of him looking at a radish.

I'm tired. I'm old. I have been going to bed before 8pm every night. I'm going to do that now.
